FIRST LEGO League Junior (FLL Jr.) is a non-competitive robotics program designed for children. Children will then work on their “Show Me” poster and LEGO models to demonstrate their findings according to the instructions in the Challenge. Parents are expected to accompany their children to the events and help our program coordinators keep everyone focused and on task!
During the season, teams will be guided through discovery and exhibition in relation to the released challenge. Teams will be meeting once per week to work together to complete the tasks laid out. All skill levels are welcomed and needed, technical or non-technical.
Children in K through 4th grade are available to register for the FLL Jr. program. Enrollment for the FLL Jr. program is generally open from June to August of each year.
2020-21 FLL Jr. Season Status
After much discussion and consultation with the ST. Mary’s County Health Department, we have made some decisions about the 2020-21 FIRST Season. Given the constantly changing nature of the Coronavirus Pandemic, we will continue to review these decisions as the situation in our area changes.
Since the safety and well being of our students is our number one priority we have decided that at this time we unfortunately will not be offering our FLL Jr. program for this year. We feel that we cannot adequately mitigate the risks associated with children of this age group.
