SOMD Qualifier – Team Information

growingSTEMS is hosting the Southern Maryland FLL/FTC Qualifier on Saturday, December 8th, 2018.

Team Load in: Please enter on Soaring Eagle Way and follow the RED path. Once teams have unloaded they will be instructed to park in the GREEN lot and follow the BLUE return path to the event location.

Spectators / Volunteers: Please enter Soaring Eagle Way and follow the ORANGE path, parking in the ORANGE parking lot and follow the BLUE path to the event location.


General InformationDoors open at 7:00 AM for team registration and robot inspection.  Teams must arrive with Consent and Release forms for all student and adult team-members or a roster printed out from the Team Information Management System (TIMS). The event may run through 6:00 PM depending on how the day progresses.

Gracious Professionalism: Team members are expected to demonstrate gracious professionalism at all times through their work within and beyond the team environment. Remember, Gracious Professionalism is a way of doing things that encourages high-quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community.

Food: Food will be available for purchase at the event.

First Aid: Please go to the Pit Administration table for basic First Aid supplies and alert the event organizers if more involved care is required.

FLL Specific Information

 

Arrival: Please report to the check-in table upon arrival. This will allow us to quickly direct people to the appropriate areas.

Competition Supplies: Be sure to bring an extension cord & utility strip, battery chargers, and spare parts (all marked with your team number).

Pit Area: Please observe the boundaries of your pit and be kind to your neighbors. The Pit Area should stay clear of obstructions to traffic.

 

FTC Specific Information

 

Arrival: Please report to the check-in table upon arrival. This will allow us to quickly direct people to the appropriate areas. Have your safety glasses packed separately, so they will be available BEFORE your team enters the pit area.

Competition Supplies: Be sure to bring an extension cord & utility strip, safety glasses, battery chargers, and spare parts (all marked with your team number).

Pit Area: Please observe the boundaries of your pit and be kind to your neighbors. The Pit Area should stay clear of obstructions to traffic. Safety glasses must be worn in Pit Area at all times by every person in the Pit Area, this includes team members, coaches, mentors, and all visitors.
