Three-peat makes The RoboBees Chesapeake District Champions

April 7, 8, and 9, 2016, Team 836 The RoboBees attended the Chesapeake District Championship held at the University Maryland’s Xfinity Center, College Park. This event was the culmination of their previous 2 wins at District Competitions, Greater DC and Central Maryland. The RoboBees had a rocky start but finished in the top 8 for the Eliminations. The first seeded team, Team 1418 Vae Victus, took no time in naming The RoboBees as their first choice to be a part of their alliance and their invitation was gratefully accepted. The RoboBees were on the winning alliance with Vae Victus at the Greater DC District Competition held earlier in March, and won that event.

A third team needed to be selected and Team 5804, Torch (rookie team) was chosen to complete the 3 team alliance. This great alliance ended up competing against the sixth seeded alliance to win the Chesapeake District Championship. Now Team 836 The RoboBees are heading to the World Championship in St. Louis, MO at the Edward Jones Dome, former home of the St. Louis Rams, to compete against 599 other teams, from all over the world April 27-30, 2016.
