Overview
growingSTEMS, in partnership with NAWCAD, is hosting an exciting summer camp focusing on the VEX IQ kits. In this camp, rising high school and middle school students will work virtually to design and program a robot, culminating in an in-person maze challenge.
This camp will take place over a five-day session, with two sessions being offered in July. Students will work virtually with experienced robotics mentors to complete a series of lessons aimed at teaching the fundamentals of robotics programming. These lessons will build up to the ultimate capstone project, an autonomous maze navigation challenge.
Each session will consist of four virtual camp days, with an optional final in-person day to complete the capstone project. The two sessions for the camp are July 12-16 and July 26-30.
Registration
This camp is hosted in conjunction with the NAWCAD Strategic Education Office. As a result, we are able to offer this camp free of cost to the students. Registration is, however, limited. Space is available on a “first come, first served” basis. Each student may register for only one session. Registration for the camps will open on June 9th. The registration form, found below needs to be emailed to the Strategic Education Office at seoroboticscamps@growingstems.org.
